Say hello again to Team Transmit as we have a chat with one of our remote Business Advisors, Victoria Milne. Priding ourselves on delivering a friendly, efficient and customer-focussed service, we have a lot of business years’ experience between us and understand the challenges of growing a business! You can meet the Business Support, Operations and Commercial teams here but without further ado, let’s see what Victoria has to say about her role at Transmit Start-Ups
What is your current position at Transmit Start-Ups? Tell us a little about your role and what it entails.
I am an Associate Business Advisor working remotely. My role involves helping NEA and Start Up Loans applicants through the application process.
What does a typical day at Transmit Start-Ups look like for you?
I work from home so my day starts when I open up my laptop. My day is very varied it involves: Speaking to new applicants and making them aware of what we require to process their loan and what is involved in the application process; Helping applicants with their business plans and financials; Checking applications and making sure that we have all the documents required; Approving loan applications.
What is your background prior to joining Transmit Start-Ups and what made you decide to join the company?
Up until a year ago I was working as a Business Advisor for over 15 years. Since then I have launched my own business, which is a recipe blog which involves developing recipes for companies and reviewing new products, hotels and restaurants. I joined Transmit as I missed helping people start their own businesses as it is a passion of mine.
What do you like to do away from the office to relax, do you have any hobbies or other interests?
My main interests are cooking, travel and learning new things.
What is it about working with start-ups that you like?
I love being a part of helping people fulfil their dreams of starting up their own business.
If you could give one tip to a Start Up Loan applicant what would it be?
Don't be afraid about what could go wrong, be excited about what can go right - go for it!
If you’re thinking about setting up your own business or need any advice or questions answered on the start-up process, give us a call or drop us an email, we’d love to hear from you!
