Newcastle Startup Week is a 5-day citywide and multi-venue festival that helps people to start or grow their business. If you’re a budding entrepreneur in the North East with a great idea but just aren’t sure how to get things started - or if you’ve already launched your business but need motivation and inspiration, advice or funding to keep going - then this is the event for you.
Newcastle Startup Week launched in 2017 and was a huge success, seeing over 50 speakers and 600 delegates join for the week - and they’re expecting the 2018 event to be even bigger.
Starting at The Boiler Shop for a day of inspiration, the week will officially begin with a celebration of local independent business success stories of the past, present and future.
GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS
Once you’re feeling inspired and ready to go from the ‘Inspiration Day’, day two at The Core is full of practical tips and advice to help move your idea from a concept into reality and really get started.
Funding and Finance is the theme for day three at Maybrook House. Whether you’re looking for funding or finance to help start or grow your business, or you’re an investor looking to get started with something new, this day is a must for you.
The day will start with an explanation of all funding options that are available to startups and scale ups in Newcastle and the wider North East, seeing the session go into further detail about grants, loans, crowdfunding, angel investors and venture capital.
GROWING AND SCALING YOUR BUSINESS
Day four at Newcastle City Library will consist of strategies to take your business to the next level, with advice from a huge range of marketing, sales, PR, recruitment, personal development, leadership and mindset specialists.
To close the festival on day five, ‘Keep Going or Pivot’ at Trinity Gardens will focus on motivational tips to keep going, whether you should carry on or change direction and what is next for the North East business startup community.
Our very own Transmit Start-Ups team will be exhibiting on the first day, providing advice and guidance on the funding options available to startup businesses and those that are already established but may need a boost.
